This weekend we were in Austria and held a workshop in Horseback archery and horse training for active instructors in the sport from England, Finland, Poland, Scotland and Austria!

We had been invited by the EU project Arch-Ed as guest coaches because the horses that participated were not trained for the purpose, which also was the main purpose of the whole workshop. Arch-Ed is a project that has been made possible thanks to ERASMUS + Sports program and the initiator of the project is the Kawalkada Sport club in Poland. The purpose of the project is to market horseback archery as a sport especially by making it attractive for young people, exchanging experiences and expanding the toolbox between coaches and together creating a manual on how we simply teaches horseback archery.

The horse was in focus throughout the whole weekend and we assumed to share our experiences and our vision when it comes to meeting individuals - horses and riders, who have never come in contact with the sport before. There were many good discussions among the participating trainers, when they got the opportunity to focus solely on the horses, we also talked a lot about how we should succeed in creating good performance environments for everyone involved.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this workshop and we are giving an extra warm thanks to the organizer and to Iris and Karl for the super service you gave us throughout our stay in Austria. We were very happy to meet both new people and old acquaintances! Pictures below from Arch-Ed, cyroo,se and Katariina Cozmei.
